Back home
I can’t believe I am writing my “wind things up” post! What an amazing adventure. The two words that sum up my feelings are “privilege” and “humility.” I am so incredibly privileged to have had the financial resources, the time, and the friends in Asia that made this trip possible. It is more than I…

Activities at the resort
Most days I just loved lounging on a chair or in a hammock, shaded by palm trees or umbrellas made of palm branches or one day a cabana with champagne! The kids enjoyed more activities like volleyball on the beach or in the water. One night we did karaoke, which was sooo funny. I could…

Some particular things I loved: 1. The metro system (MRT) was great – clean, easy, fast, accessible for wheelchairs. I did get…

Art in Taiwan
I am a bit behind on writing in my blog! I am going to dump a bunch of art in this post. It is from the Grand Palace. My brother said when Chiang Kai-shek left mainland China with a few million people, he brought lots of art. This is where it is displayed.

Jiufen (sounds like “Jo fun” to my ear)
Did you ever watch “Spirited Away”? I had not until I was in Singapore with Amy and Adam. Sammie said they watched it all the time in Belle Sherman after school, though. It’s an animated Japanese movie about a girl who saves her family. The movie includes a bath house. The bath house’s appearance was…
