Lake Cayuga.
When I returned from Chicago I saw things at home in a new way. This is natural: absence makes the heart grow fonder, as they say! After feeling gratitude for my friends, the quiet was the first thing I noticed. So much noise pollution where we lived in Chicago.
The next thing I felt happy about – almost reintroduced to- was the beauty of the lush, green rolling hills, set off by Lake Cayuga. It reminded me that I live in a tourist destination! How lucky am I?! So, I will report occasionally about culture, beauty and food in my own backyard!

Lake Cayuga
Shortly after my return, in late August, I went wine tasting with friends Reba and Dani. I hadn’t been wine tasting for awhile and I thoroughly enjoyed it!! We went to several places on Lake Cayuga, but Seneca Lake also has great options. I don’t think the reds are as good here, but the whites are great. My favorites are Chardonnays and Rieslings.
