Back home

I can’t believe I am writing my “wind things up” post! What an amazing adventure.

The two words that sum up my feelings are “privilege” and “humility.” I am so incredibly privileged to have had the financial resources, the time, and the friends in Asia that made this trip possible. It is more than I ever dreamed! And, I feel so humbled by my ignorance. I look forward to pursuing topics — geo-political, art, language, cooking— that this trip has raised. I feel so curious and excited to continue to learn. And, retirees can take Cornell classes!!

Greeting from Riley and Bubba

I also feel so lucky to have a wonderful home to which I got to return. Sammie conspired with others to have the house spotless and magical when I got home. The dogs gave me a warm and wet homecoming. My friends have been so patient with me repeating stories over and over.

I look forward to continuing this blog. It will mostly be when I travel, but I suspect I will be meeting the world locally, too. Stay tuned!
