Animals of Bangalore

When I was in Qatar I saw many cats wandering the streets that did not seem to have homes. In Bangalore, it seems to be dogs in this role. I understand on the ILSc campus the dogs are treated like community dogs, with many people contributing to their care, including vet visits, vaccines and food.

I also saw a cow on the street. I know cows are sacred to Hindus. I learned that many people own cows, even in town.

This was in town, near a market.

There used to be many sparrows in this area, but the numbers have reduced lately. These paintings from the street art endeavor to remember them.

We had a bird’s nest with eggs for a few days, but the eggs were broken this morning. It made me sad.

I saw this cat with a woman at a market.

I saw some monkeys on campus but too far away to capture in a picture. I will keep trying.
